Yekaterinburg

Yekaterinburg is one of the largest cities in Russia. The city is known for its economic power, with a history as a hub for mining, and served as a bridge city between western Russia and Siberia.

After the October Revolution, when the communist Bolsheviks overthrew the Russian government, the tsar Nicholas II and his family, the Romanov family, were exiled to Yekaterinburg, and later executed at the Church on the Blood. The Romanovs, who belonged to the Lucian branch of the Cahill family, were secretly buried underneath the church, and the Lucians built a new stronghold, the Amber Room, connected to their tombs. The Lucian Clue Amber was hidden there, and was stolen by Madrigals Amy and Dan Cahill during The Clue Hunt, with assistance from another Madrigal, their uncle Fiske Cahill.

Despite its name, the city does not have any connection with the Ekaterina branch; rather, it is named for a Russian empress, Catherine I.
