Queen Elizabeth I was the Queen of England and Ireland. Sometimes called "The Virgin Queen," or "Good Queen Bess," she was also a powerful Lucian.

History[]

Born on September 7th 1933, Elizabeth was the princess to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. However, since Henry's marriage to Anne was annulled, Elizabeth was deemed an illegitimate child. Henry thought Elizabeth was the biggest disappointment of his life, because he desperately wanted a male heir to ascend to the throne. Two and a half years after Elizabeth's birth, Anne was executed. Then, in 1547, Henry VIII dies, and the throne was given to Edward VI, Henry's first male heir.

After Edward died, in 1553, the throne was given to Lady Jane Grey, who only ruled for nine days before she was executed. Elizabeth's half-sister, Mary, took over the throne, restoring the nation's religion to Catholicism. However, Elizabeth remained, at heart, a Protestant.

Elizabeth was soon arrested and imprisoned in the Tower of London under suspicion of supporting Protestant rebels. Fortunately for her, Mary died in 1558 and Elizabeth succeeded her for the throne. Thus, the great Queen's reign was known as the Elizabethan era, a time that celebrated English plays and adventures. Elizabeth's rule lasted 44 years before she died on March 24, 1603, at the age of 69.

Appearances[]

Although Elizabeth doesn't make any appearance in the series, her sister, Mary Tudor, was originally supposed to marry Winthrop Cahill, Luke Cahill's son. Luke was her father's closest advisor. She may have indeed married Winthrop but for now it is unknown.
