Port Royal is a village in Jamaica. During the early days of European colonization of the Western Hemisphere, Port Royal was the largest city, and a hub for economic activity, as well as a safe harbor for pirates. The city was severely damaged in an earthquake in 1692, and, while it was rebuilt, it never regained its prominence.
Madrigal operative and Cahill kingpin Grace Cahill visited Port Royal and spent a great deal of time exploring the archaeological sites around the village. During the Clue Hunt, Team Seven, along with historian Lester Dixon, visited Port Royal to retrieve a box, formerly owned by Madeleine Cahill, that held the Clue Mace. They were attacked by Team One, along with hired thugs Anton and Hugo, who attempted to steal the box, but Team Seven member Nellie Gomez escaped with it. During the pursuit, Lester and the thugs became trapped in quicksand as a hurricane began to strike Port Royal, and Dan Cahill was unable to rescue Lester before he drowned.
