An unnamed soldier with a lisp fought for the Central Powers during World War I. He was German and fought for his native country, and had blond hair. On Christmas Eve in 1914, the soldier was assigned to guard a factory where the Vespers held Ekaterina scientist Dr. Frederick Woolsey captive. A Cahill rescue team consisting of Lucian Rupert Davenport, Tomas Major Thompson, and Janus Marie narrowly avoided a confrontation with the soldier at the factory, who went back to a game of cards with another soldier. Later, the soldier chased Rupert, who was only just able to escape.
