Jean-Michel Basquiat was an American artist from New York City, most famous for his graffiti art and his paintings. Basquiat belonged to the Neo-Expessionist school of painting, and his works explored ideas of social and political conflict.
Basquiat was a member of the Janus branch of the Cahill family, though the extent of his involvement in branch activities is unknown, and collaborated with fellow Janus Andy Warhol. The Janus stronghold in Venice, Italy under Disco Volante had a section devoted to his works.
