The route of the Iditarod
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is the most famous sled dog race in the world, taking place in Alaska in the United States. The race honors a group of dogsled drivers who made the journey from Anchorage to Nome in 1925 to deliver medicine to stop an outbreak of diptheria.
It is suspected that the original Iditarod run was also used by the Tomas branch of the Cahill family to deliver a package. The route is controlled by the Tomas, and is listed as a stronghold in The Black Book of Buried Secrets.
