Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-American actress and inventor. She was a member of the Janus branch of the Cahill family, though the extent of her involvement in branch affairs is unknown. Lamarr appeared in several films over a thirty-year career, achieving stardom in the 1940s and 1950s, starring in films such as Boom Town, White Cargo, and Samson and Delilah. She was also an inventor, developing a radar guidance system that would later be used in technologies like Bluetooth and WiFi.
