Description[]
"Portugal was one of the few European countries that remained neutral during World War II. It became a haven for refugees and a useful escape route. The flurry of activity made the capitol city, Lisbon, the ideal location for both sides to keep tabs on their enemies. As a result, Lisbon became known as the City of Spies. Janus singer/secret agent Josephine Baker spent time in Portugal during the war. Was she simply performing for her many fans? Or did she have a secret reason for visiting the City of Spies?"
