I can't believe that they died! Especially Natalie!
I was prepared (And wanted) to see ALL the hostages go. I had kind of wanted to see Jake go before they made him a character in this book. I understand why Evan was killed but I saw it coming since he was the only other person that would motivate Amy to fight harder along with Nellie and Fiske. Still losing Natalie was hard. She is one of the orginal 7 characters of the 39 clues along with Dan, Amy, Beatrice, Grace, McIntyre, Ian, and Natalie (the first characters we met in book 1)
What about The Holts, The Starlings, Irina, Alistair and Nellie? I would say they were some of the first characters we met, and they all could of easily died (with the exeption of Alistair). I know why they chose the kill these two charcters. Evan because it lays out a new emotional character plot for Amy (and Jake). Natalie because she was the only thing that would finally crack Isabel (I don't think they would of achieved the same results if Ian died).
Yah thats another reason that they were chosen to be killed. When I say original 7 characters I mean that we were introduced to these characters a few pages into the book and we got attached to them because they were interesting and in the case of Ian and Natalie they looked like potential antagonists. (The Holts were introduced before them however they were not really defined as characters IMO until a bit later)
I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Cryed for at least an hour!!!!!!!
Their deaths is the best thing that happened during the war between the Cahills and Vespers. Besides, when David Baldacci gathered all the info, he forgot the part when Nilem12 destroyed Damien Vesper (behind the scenes), so that Nilem12 could become Vesper One. The Machina Fini Mundi was nothing compared to Vesper tech like the Aurora-class battleship, Dakara superweapon, and so on.-- 17:16, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
